A Skin Too Few; The Days of Nick Drake

Nick Drake, c. 1969.A study, mostly chronological, of the life of Nick Drake (1948-1974). Gabrielle, his older sister, tells us of her brother’s birth in Burma, childhood in Warwickshire, life at Cambridge and in London, then back to his parents’ home in Tanworth.

Worth watching of course to find out what he was like as a person, but even more so for the music – the director leaves the songs to speak for themselves – and the reflective nature of his friends and colleagues (none of the dramatic exaggeration you might find in other documentaries about similar artists).
